Seabrook to join Iluka board as Mackenzie retires

Iluka Resources Ltd has announced major changes to its board of directors, with Jenny Seabrook joining as a non-executive director and Bob Every set to replace Ian Mackenzie as chairman.

Iluka also announced the retirement of Grahame Campbell and Valerie Davies as directors.

Iluka Resources Limited ("Iluka") today announced that Ms Jenny Seabrook has been appointed as a non Executive Director, with effect from 1 May 2008.

Ms Seabrook is a Special Advisor at Gresham Partners Limited. Her current directorships include: Deputy Chairperson of Electricity Networks Corporation (trading as Western Power) where she chairs the Finance and Risk Committee; Westralian Newspaper Holdings Limited, where she chairs the Audit and Risk Committee; BWA Management Limited, St Andrew's Superannuation Services Pty Limited and M. G. Kallis Holdings Pty Limited.

Ms Seabrook is a member of the Takeovers Panel and the Markets Policy Group of the Financial Services Institute of Australia ("FINSIA"). Ms Seabrook holds a BCom, ACA, FAICD.

Other Board Changes

The Chairman of Iluka, Mr Ian Mackenzie intends to retire as Chairman and a Director at the Annual General Meeting to be held in Perth on 21 May, after nearly nine years in the role.

Dr Bob Every is expected to succeed Mackenzie as Chairman. Dr Every was appointed to the Iluka Board in 2004. He was formerly Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of OneSteel Limited and Chairman of Steel & Tube Holdings in New Zealand. His other current directorships include: Wesfarmers Limited and Boral Limited.

Two other Directors will not be standing for re-election at the Iluka 2008 Annual General Meeting, In accordance with the Board's policy of a preferred length of service of not more than ten years, both: Mr Grahame Campbell and Ms Valerie Davies have served more than this period and will not stand for re-election at the 2008 Annual General Meeting.
