Region’s action plan

Tuesday, 1 August, 2000 - 22:00
THE Warren Blackwood Development Plan is being prepared in consultation with the local community, industry and businesses.

University of WA Institute for Regional Development director Peter Waterman has been appointed as consultant by the Government and will work with the South West Development Commission on the preparation of a long-term development action plan for the Warren Blackwood area.

The plan encompasses the shires of Boyup Brook, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Nannup and Manjimup.

The initial consultation will study the challenges arising from industry restructuring and the changes in local communities in the Warren Blackwood area.

It will also explore ways in which shire councils, business and industry groups and local communities can work together to expand business and work opportunities and find better ways to enjoy living and working in the region.
