SIX outstanding young individuals from the local property industry have made it to the Property Council’s Future Directions Young Achiever Award list of finalists. The award recognises individual achievement and the contribution of young people in all facets of the property industry.
The finalists include Mirvac Fini development director Evan Campbell, Satterley Property Group project manager Andrew Auret, Vision Architects managing director Barry Baltinas, Warwick Grove Shopping Centre centre manager Bruce McCully, Westfield Galleria centre manager Mark Guttridge, and Westfield Innaloo centre manager Denise Johnson.
Mirvac Fini’s Evan Campbell said the award provided him with an opportunity to give something back to the industry and to promote young people in the property sector.
At just 31 years of age, Mr Campbell has already worked on a number of high-profile projects in Australia, including the $1 billion Olympic Village in Sydney.
He also played a pivotal role in Mirvac’s acquisition of the Fini Group.
“The average age of our development department is about 27,” Mr Campbell said.
“For me this is really about promoting young people.
“There are lots of hungry young people who are highly educated and looking to do well. It’s not about the money; I want to be able to promote young people in various forums.”
