Pindan has been awarded the design and construction contract for the first stage of an $18.5 million youth care centre project in Midland.

The Parkerville Children and Youth Care Stan & Jean Perron Child Advocacy Centre will feature therapy consulting rooms, large family rooms, an occupational therapy treatment room and WA Police facilities, among other things.

Under the first stage of the project, Pindan will build the new centre on the corner of Watertank Way and Gauge Road within the Midland Railway Workshops precinct.

The first stage project is expected to be completed in mid-2019.

The second stage of the centre involves the renovation of two heritage listed buildings into offices and a cafe.

Pindan business development manager James Allingame said the company had worked in the MRW precinct.

Pindan has extensive experience in the rejuvenation of historical buildings located within the workshops, evident in the Midland GP Super Clinic completed in 2012 and the Police Traffic Operations Facility completed in 2018,” he said.

“We are also currently building the $14 million Midland Specialist Centre and Day Surgery located on the Midland Sidings site.”
