Perth-based building company Pindan has won a $56 million camp construction contract for Fortescue Metals Group’s Solomon Hub iron ore development in the Pilbara.

The scope of works covers design and construction of a 1,500 man permanent camp, including earthworks, drainage and sewage, services and roads.

Pindan was previously awarded a $22 million contract to build an 800-bed construction camp at Solomon in March.

Works will commence shortly, with a completion date of August next year.

Pindan said the camp’s buildings would be supplied by Fortescue.

Pindan contracting division director Dickie Dique was buoyed by another significant contract win for the company.

“Our division is enjoying a remarkable expansion in the WA resources sector on the back of these and other major contract wins for some of Australia’s largest producers,” he said.
