Perth property developer Match has won a national award for its Home project, a mixed-use development that has re-invented one of the city's prominent heritage buildings.

The company won the National Award for Heritage and Adaptive Re-use at this year's Property Council of Australia (PCA) Rider Levett Bucknall Awards for Innovation and Excellenheld in Sydney over the weekend.

Home, located on the corner of Murray and Milligan Streets in Perth, was originally built in 1927 as a factory warehouse for British tobacco company W.D & H.O Wills.

PCA president Daniel Grollo said the building has been classified as one of the City of Perth's Register of Culturally Significant places.

The building consists of 30 warehouse apartments and 37 terrace apartments, and has experienced high occupancy rates.

"It is very rewarding to receive national industry recognition for the delivery of good design and the preservation of historic building, something which the team at Match are so dedicated and committed to," said Lloyd Clark, Managing Director, Match .

Other winners on the night included overall winner Rouse Hill Town Centre in New South Wales, Quad Business Park (NSW), Sir Montefiore Jewish Home (NSW) and AXA Centre in Victoria.
