Veski opens Perth outpost

Croatia-based vibration diagnostics and analysis technology firm Veski has expanded into the Oceania region, opening a Perth office headed by Rod Wakefield and Robert Butina.

 

Kelly joins BDO

BDO has appointed Kay Kelly an associate director of its Perth international financial reporting standards team. Previously, Ms  Kelly was at EY, after prior roles with PwC. She has held contract roles with companies including Alinta Energy and Wesfarmers Energy.

 

New GM at Baptistcare

Baptistcare has appointed Graydn Spinks as general manager, aged care services. Mr  Spinks spent a decade with Southern Cross Care in a number of roles, including three years as general manager, services. Prior to joining SCC, he had worked with the Australian Red Cross, and in respite services for the City of Swan.

 

Baddeley new IPTA president

Watermark principal Richard Baddeley has been appointed president of the Institute of Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys. He currently serves as a principal in Watermark’s biosciences and chemical technologies team. Holding a degree in chemical engineering, Mr  Baddeley worked as a metallurgist for CRA Services before joining Watermark in 1989.

 

Ngala appoint Fiona Beermier

Ngala has appointed Fiona Beermier chief executive, filling the vacancy created by Ashley Reid’s departure in March. Ms  Beermier, who takes up her new role in July, is currently chief executive of Intelife. Before taking the helm at Intelife in 2014, she was chief operating officer of YouthCare.

 

David Flynn has been appointed to the board of the Perth International Arts Festival

Mr  Flynn is a partner at Azure Capital, which he joined in 2009. He has previous experience in fund management roles with Union Bancaire Privee and National Australia Bank.

 

A+O promotes Nicholls

Allen and Overy has appointed Luke Nicholls as counsel in its corporate practice. Mr  Nicholls has been a senior associate for the firm since 2009, transferring from the London office to Perth in 2011. Prior to his arrival at A+O, Mr  Nicholls worked as a solicitor for Clayton Utz in Melbourne for three years.

 

IRDI hires McMullen

IRDI Legal has appointed David McMullen as senior lawyer. Mr  McMullen was previously general counsel and company secretary of St Ives Group’s Retirement Living and Home Care subsidiaries. He also has experience as an in-house counsel for St John of God Health Care, as well as with Jackson McDonald and MinterEllison.

 

Allsop takes on tourism role

Regional tourism organisation Australia’s South West has appointed Catrin Allsop chief executive. Ms Allsop has acted in the role since January 2016. Previously she served nine years as sales and marketing manager at Abbey Beach Resort.

 

Langoulant chairs ARTrinsic

ARTrinsic, which runs the annual black swan prize for portraiture, has appointed John Langoulant chair. Mr  Langoulant replaces Pina Caffarelli, who has served as chair for almost a decade. Ms  Caffarelli has stepped down to the deputy chair role. Mr  Langoulant is also chair of the Telethon Kids Institute and Committee for Perth.

 

PCFA appoint Nadine Magill new WA state manager

The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia has appointed Nadine Magill WA manager. Ms  Magill previously worked as fundraising executive at Ronald McDonald House, following similar work for Camp Quality. Her predecessor Cate Harman had led the Perth office since 2008.

 

Cahill leads Wow

Residential builder Wow Group has appointed Declan Cahill chief executive. Mr Cahill was previously head of commercial development at Seven West Media WA. He joined West Australian Newspapers as sales manager in 2006 after a previous London-based role with Lotus International.
