New regional director for CHC Helicopter

CHC Helicopter Group has appointed Vincent D'Rozario to the Perth-based role of regional director, Asia Pacific. Mr D'Rozario was vice president Asia, projects at Jacobs Engineering, where he worked on a variety of oil and gas projects for Shell, BP, Exxon Mobil and Chevron. Mr D'Rozario has served as regional director, Asia Pacific and general manager, Indonesia and Singapore for Global Process Systems. He has been appointed managing director of CHC Asia Pacific and joins the global CHC senior leadership team.

 

Paul Harrison, the new Executive General Manager for Upstream PS

GR Engineering Services subsidiary Upstream Production Solutions has appointed Paul Harrison executive general manager, west. Mr  Harrison was previously managing director, oil and gas Asia Pacific for Amec Foster Wheeler. He also has experience in executive positions with LogiCamms, Worley Parsons and Transfield Worley.

 

Two new appointments at ECU

Edith Cowan University has appointed Angela Hill and Maxine Plant to senior roles. Professor  Hill will join ECU in April as pro vice-chancellor, education where she will be responsible for the centre for learning and teaching, and the library services centre. Professor  Hill is currently dean of learning, teaching and student engagement at James Cook University, which she joined as Deputy Head, School of Education in 2007. Maxine  Plant has been named director, facilities and services centre. Ms  Plant has over 20 years' experience in corporate real estate, facilities and project management. She is also experienced in the oil and gas, mining, retail, commercial, government and residential sectors. Ms  Plant was previously global facilities manager for Woodside Energy.

 

New Managing Partner, Media for 303 MullenLowe Perth

303MullenLowe Perth has appointed Alice Manners as managing partner, media. Ms  Manners was previously chief digital officer of Marketforce Australia, a position she took up in August last year. Before moving to Perth she was the Sydney-based chief executive of Interactive Advertising Bureau for three years. Prior to this, she held numerous executive roles with WPP Asia Pacific, including chief operating officer, interaction for GroupM Asia Pacific.

 

Head of Curtin Business School moves to University of Newcastle

Curtin Business School pro vice-chancellor Tony Travaglione, has left to take up the position of pro vice-chancellor, faculty of business and law at the University of Newcastle. Professor Travaglione joined Curtin University in 2008 as head of the school of management and was appointed pro vice-chancellor of the Business School in 2012. During his time at Curtin, Professor Travaglione established its law school and the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre.

 

New chair for Bentley's aged care and retirement living provider

Etta Palumbo has been appointed chair of SwanCare Group, WA’s largest single-site aged care and retirement living provider. Ms  Palumbo is a trained psychologist with a background in executive management and business development roles. She currently serves as director, business development and marketing at the Public Trustee. Ms  Palumbo has been a non-executive director of SwanCare since 2013 and is chair of Australian Sport Tourism Development Association. She has served as a national board member and WA chair of AsiaPacific Professional Services Marketing Association.

 

Peter Forbes new chair of Lions Eye Institute

Peter Forbes has been appointed chair of the Lions Eye Institute following the resignation of Stephen Pearce. Mr  Forbes was chief executive of MDA National until 2014, and was a founding partner and former managing partner of HLB Mann Judd WA. He is currently a non-executive of the East Metropolitan Health Service and the Local Government Insurance Scheme WA. Mr  Forbes has been non-executive director of LEI since 2014. Mr  Pearce has stepped down from this and other roles, including chief financial officer and executive director of Fortescue Metals Group, to take up the position of executive finance director at London-based company Anglo-American.

 

CBH welcomes GM of Business Transformation

CBH Group has appointed Matt Shellabear general manager, business transformation. Mr Shellabear most recently spent two years in Hong Kong as chief operating officer of COFCO International, one of China’s largest food companies. Mr Shellabear has previously held business development roles at logistics companies TNT and DHL. In 2007 he moved into the agribusiness sector, taking on the position of global lead, trade execution for Cargill.

 

Special Counsel Witham for Cannings Purple

William Witham has joined Cannings Purple as special counsel. Mr  Witham was appointed chief operating officer of Manhattan Corporation in April last year, before which he was manager, North West and Kimberley for the Chamber of Minerals and Energy. His experience in the resources sector includes as managing director of Waratah Resources and Whinnen Resources. Mr  Witham was the WA Nationals candidate for the federal seat of O'Connor in 2013.

 

Rio Tinto executive appointed to Black Swan State Theatre board

Rio Tinto managing director, planning integration and assets Kellie Parker has been appointed to the board of the Black Swan State Theatre Company. Ms  Parker joined Rio Tinto in 2001 and has been part of the executive team since 2014, after previously serving as general manager of the operations centre from 2011.

 

RFDS exec joins SJOG

The St John of God Foundation has appointed Nick Harvey as its new chief executive. Mr  Harvey was previously executive general manager, corporate affairs for the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations. He has also previously served as general manager, marketing and communications for the Silver Chain Group.
