CHANNEL 9 Perth has appointed West Australian journalist Steve Pennells chief of staff.
Mr Pennells has been working for the West Australian Sydney bureau for three years, during which time he covered the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
The Sydney post finished after the games and Mr Pennells was intending to return to the West Australian in Perth when he was approached by Channel 9.
Mr Pennells will join Channel 9 from February 5, 2001.
Shaun Menegola has been appointed as news director at Channel 7 Perth.
He has been at Channel 7 News as associate director.
Shaun brings more than 20 years of experience to his new position. He began his career in journalism as a cadet with the Narrogin Observer and was former chief industrial affairs reporter at the West Australian.
