Straits Resources has bolstered its management team, appointing former Norton Gold Fields executives Andre Labuschagne and Robert Brainsbury as chief executive and chief financial officer.

Chairman Adrian Redlich said the new management team would focus on the separation of the company's gold and copper assets and continue a review of operations.

Incumbent chief executive Milan Jerkovic will stand down as chief executive immediately, ahead of his previously-announced departure in March.

“The board would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Jerkovich for his commitment to the company for over 20 years and wish him well for the future,” Straits said in a statement.

At close of trade today, Straits Resources shares were down 3.3 per cent, trading at 8.6 cents.
