West Perth-based iron ore explorer Territory Iron Ltd has promoted its recently appointed chairman, Michael Kiernan, to the role of executive chairman. Mr Kiernan is currently non-executive chairman of Croesus Mining NL, Precious Metals Australia Ltd and Mineral Resources Ltd, and is managing director of Consolidated Minerals Ltd. He is also chairman of Uran Ltd, a non-executive director of Matilda Minerals Ltd and a director and executive chairman of Monarch Gold Mining Company Ltd. Mr Kiernan’s appointment coincides with the re-naming of the company as Territory Resources Ltd, to reflect its new direction as a diverse carbon steel commodity supplier. The company’s managing director, Doug Stewart, has also resigned, effective in late July.
