THE chief justice of Western Australia has appointed five lawyers as senior counsel from 23 applicants.
A senior government officer, Gregory Calcutt, and four barristers – Christopher Shanahan, Andrew Beech, Mark Ritter and Grant Donaldson – were the successful applicants.
Among the appointment criteria are eminence in the practice of the law, unquestioned integrity, availability, and independence.
