HOSPITALITY innovator Geoff Hayward is looking to open a new venture in the heart of Perth. While he could not confirm what he is up to, he did say it would be a mixture of his successful hospitality ventures – Monza, Luxe Bar and Cino to Go. Geoff sold the Cino to Go sites and brand to Dome Coffees, allowing him to work on his newest projects.
He opened Monza, at the former 14 and 7 site in Leederville, to offer good Italian pastas and risottos.
But it seems trying to shift some entrenched eating habits is a pretty tough ask and the once pasta/risotto only establishment now serves steak as well.
The concession forms part of the new menu created by head chef Justin Bell that provides true winter warmth.
Included on the menu are slow-roasted pork, porcini and field mushroom risotto, and gnocchi and lamb shank ragu. And you can now BYO.

The following restaurants have won the right to compete in this year’s Oceanafest Restaurant of Champions – Central West College of TAFE, Geraldton Campus; Crowne Plaza; Fraser’s Restaurant; Greyhounds WA; Hotel Northbridge; Oceanus; Parmelia Hilton Perth, Rydges Perth, Sassellas Tavern; and the WA Turf Club.
They will be joined by teams from Victoria and New Zealand to compete in Oceanafest’s Restaurant of Champions competition at Challenge Stadium from August 24- 27 2002.

If you want your taste buds to get a hold of some rare Leeuwin drops then get along to the Liew and Leeuwin long table dinner at The Globe Wine Bar and Restaurant.
Tastings will be available of the 1995 Art Series Chardonnay and the 1991 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon and the yet-to-be-released 2000 Art Series Shiraz. The dinner will be held on Thursday September 5.
