New Vibe for Subi

Sydney-based operator TFE Hotels has partnered with developer Dradgin Pte Ltd to launch its first Vibe Hotel-branded project in Western Australia, in Subiaco, next month. 

The Vibe Hotel Subiaco will add to TFE Hotels' existing portfolio of WA properties: an Adina Apartment Hotel on Mounts Bay Road and another at Barrack Plaza; Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough and Rendezvous Hotel Perth Central, on Mount Street; and the Travelodge Hotel Perth. 

Dradgin had originally secured international hotel chain Park Regis, its logo installed on the building - formerly known as SubiXO - in mid-2019, but Park Regis pulled out of operating prior to its opening earlier this year.

Opening on October 1, Vibe Subiaco will feature 168 hotel rooms, a rooftop pool, gym and conference rooms at the back of Dradgin’s precinct, on the corner of Railway Road and Alvan Street.

TFE Hotels chief executive Antony Ritch said Vibe Hotel Subiaco would also offer alfresco dining via the rooftop Storehouse Restaurant and Bar.

“There’s been quite a lot of development in Perth CBD in recent years in the upper upscale accommodation category, but Vibe Hotel Subiaco will be the first of our Next Generation Vibe properties in WA,” Mr Ritch said. 

Vibe Hotel Subiaco follows the opening of Vibe Melbourne in July 2020, with other Vibe Hotels planned to open in Hobart (November 2020) and Adelaide (scheduled to open mid-2022).

Dradgin investment manager Lynn Liang said the 12-storey Vibe Hotel was the tallest of three buildings in the precinct, which was also home to more than 24,000 square metres of commercial, office, retail and cinema tenancies.

Mining services company Mineral Resources was expected to move in earlier this year, but instead purchased an office in Herdsman.

“Vibe Hotel Subiaco offers the chance to experience a different side to Perth in a vibrant and eclectic suburb on the city fringe,” Mr Ritch said.

“These local experiences – from a night out at the iconic Regal Theatre to the bustle of the weekend farmer’s markets to feeding swans in nearby parklands - will be bolstered by the hotel’s facilities.”
