BOUTIQUE corporate advisory group, New Holland Capital Pty Ltd, has recruited Investec Bank executive Jason Brewer to run its newly established Perth office. New Holland was established in Sydney in 2005 by former Newcrest Mining Ltd managing director, Gordon Galt. It offers a full range of corporate advisory services to the resources sector, targeting small to mid-cap companies. Mr Brewer has 15 years’ experience in the resources sector and investment banking, and has been working in Perth for five years with NM Rothschild & Sons and Investec Bank, where he focused on arranging corporate and project funding and risk management facilities. He said New Holland was planning to have between three and four staff in Perth. As well as running the corporate advisory business, New Holland’s sister company, Taurus Funds Management, manages the $300 million Taurus Resources Fund, a private equity fund focused on investing in small to mid-cap resources companies. Meanwhile, Investec has filled the gap left by Mr Brewer’s departure by recruiting Grant Samuel executive Justin Tremain, who will commence next month. State manager John Fitzgerald said the group had also appointed analyst Kelly Harry to boost its Perth resource financing team.
