IF YOU have ever wondered what it was like to gamble your hard-earned savings on the stock market you can now find out without risk and may win $5000.

The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) has set up an on-line stock market charity game sponsored by TD Waterhouse Investor Services that will enable 5000 people to play the market, each starting with a kitty of $50,000.

Players can set their own watch list, chart the share price of the 100 stocks in the game and keep up to date with latest company announcements.

They can also access free research via TD Waterhouse Investor Services Internet site.

The game offers a prize of $5000 to the player with the highest valued portfolio in Australia and $1000 to the highest portfolio in each State.

There will be second and third State prizes of free on-line entry to ASX’s courses Easy Steps to Share Investment.

“The game allows investors to put their skills to the test before investing in the real share market,” says AXS managing director Richard Humphry.

The game will run from January 29 to March 23. Enrol on-line at www.asx.com before January 24.
