NAMAKWA Diamonds Company has signed an information licence agreement with De Beers Consolidated Mines, giving it access to historical exploration and bulk sampling data generated by De Beers over Namakwa’s current diamond project areas on South Africa’s west coast.
This data, and Namakwa’s own exploration work, is expected to enhance its picture of the region.
The company has already generated a large number of new target areas for its 2005 exploration campaign.
Namakwa chairman Kalr Simich said the company would be analysing the De Beers database as the basis for its stage two exploration program, which is due to commence early next year.
