Belmont-based NRW Holdings has announced a number of new contracts, including for work on the state government’s $140 million smart freeways project.

NRW this morning said it had won $110 million in work across the resources and infrastructure sectors, though its contract to build a smart freeway on Mitchell Freeway southbound was revealed in December.

Main Roads WA had awarded the contract to an alliance comprising NRW, Melbourne-based Service Stream, and global engineer WSP.

The scope of works includes the installation of coordinated signals at seven southbound entry ramps, from Reid Highway to Vincent Street.

NRW said its other contracts were for miscellaneous works, including bulk earthworks, civil and ancillary works associated with a new iron ore mine pit in the east Pilbara.

Other works include design and civil construction work as well as work on a major rehabilitation project in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

Further, the company said it will design, build, and rehabilitate the main lake within Brisbane’s St Lucia Lakes Precinct, with the scope of works including subsoil and surface treatment, revegetation, and erosion control protection.

NRW’s shares were down 0.74 per cent at 2:25pm AEDT to trade at $1.74.
