NBN contractor enters administration

UPDATE: An infrastructure delivery company that had carried out work on the NBN rollout in Perth has collapsed.

Brisbane-based Artemis Insolvency has been appointed administrators by Daly International, which has reportedly made 80 Australian Daly employees redundant and closed its offices in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.

It is not yet known if Daly’s offices in the UK have also closed.

It is understood the administrator has so far received proof of $5.1 million owed to creditors.

Daly, which provided cabling installation and commissioning, was awarded a $27.7 million contract in 2013 by NBN Co to deliver fibre to multi-dwelling units in WA and Queensland.

It was also designing the NBN passive fibre network in Sydney and Melbourne.

An NBN Co representative later told Business News that all payment claims by Daly to the company had been assessed and paid.

Outside of work for the NBN, Daly was carrying out site acquisition and engineering design work in Australia for Huawei on Optus’s expansion and upgrade of its portfolio base stations.

It was also working with TPG Telecom to expand the telco’s network infrastructure in regional NSW.
