THE South Pacific Regional Computer Programming Comp-etition will be hosted by Murdoch University on 18 September for the second year running.
The five-hour contest involves teams of three students trying to solve eight complex computer programming problems in the shortest possible time.
Entrants will be vying for the right to represent Australia in the international finals in Orlando, Florida in March.
The event will take place simultaneously at universities throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Only the top team from each country will go through to the finals.
All participants in the competition receive free software and there are additional prizes for the winners.
