METTE Nielsen started In2integrity in 2005 after gaining considerable experience and knowledge as a senior corrosion engineer, both in the UK and Western Australia. Her enterprise provides technical integrity expertise to the oil and gas industry with a focus on a loyal, honest and sound solution that satis-fies and exceeds client expectations. Ms Nielsen completed a chemical engineering degree in Denmark in 1991 before taking her first engineering role in Scotland as a corrosion engineer. Establishing a social and business network was integral to her early success in the international oil and gas industry, together with overcoming the challenge of learning English. In 1997, she moved to WA and joined QCL International, where she developed her career as an integrity and corrosion engineer, consulting to clients on the north-west shelf. In 2000, Ms Nielsen worked full-time with Apache Energy and has remained with the company ever since, although now contracted through In2integrity. In 2002 she was instrumental in developing a breakthrough miti-gation, monitoring and management plan for a sub-sea pipeline on the NW shelf, located in a marine park and with a significant metal deterioration rate. As a result of her breakthrough, the pipeline remains intact and environmental damage avoided. Ms Nielsen serves on the board of the Australian Corrosion Asso-ciation, and in 2000 initiated the first WA Corrosion Expo, which is now a biannual event. In 2005 she created a business called Every Goddess, which promotes and facilitates events that empower women while raising money for charity.
