Margaret River automated online reservation system BookEasy has been awarded a $60,000 Federal Government grant to help the business target the New Zealand market.

The grant was awarded as part of the latest round of Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) grants.

The tourism and holiday booking system was designed through the collaboration of the Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association and Queensberry IT.
BookEasy has been in operation since November 2002 and in that time bookings income having increased by 100 per cent.

The system was initially developed for the Augusta and Margaret River Visitor Centre because there was no online reservation system specifically built for visitor centres that met their needs.
It is now fully operational in 20 visitor centres around Australia.
