Mining services group MLG has signed a three-year partnership agreement with the West Coast Eagles’ AFLW team.

MLG’s logo will appear on West Coast’s womens team’s off-field polo shirts as well as ground signage at the team’s home games.

Managing director Murray Leahy said West Coast’s culture of supporting women in leadership positions fit with the management ethos of MLG.

“Partnering with one of the most successful sporting brands in Australia is consistent with our values of leadership, passion and courage, and supports our mission as a high-performing, team-oriented workforce,” Mr Leahy said.

“We were also attracted by the West Coast Eagles’ drive to deliver diversity through the promotion of equality in sport. We’re delighted to be an inaugural partner and look forward in building a long-term partnership with the West Coast Eagles.”

West Coast’s AFLW team will play its first season in the national competition in 2020.

West Coast Eagles general manager - community & game development, Richard O’Connell said the deal was one to be celebrated.

MLG is moving into their twentieth year since starting in the Goldfields while we are about to step out on the AFLW arena for the first time, so we are both celebrating milestones in our respective journeys.

“Our players are not afraid to get their hands dirty and nor are MLG, who support many of the big Australian mining operations – it’s great to be standing together as we write our AFLW story."
