Local PR firm grows

Perth-based communications firm gtmedia hasn’t let the state’s hard border policy deter its plans for national expansion, opening an office in Sydney.

Founded in 2003 by former TV journalist and Seven Network chief of staff Gemma Tognini, gtmedia has now rebranded to GT Communications and has secured space in Chifley Tower, located in Sydney’s CBD.

“We have been planning this move for over a year and weren’t phased by the circumstances of 2020,” Ms Tognini said.

“At a time when many others are contracting, we are seeing great opportunities.”

A Telstra Businesswomen’s’ Award winner, columnist and regular contributor on national TV and radio, Ms Tognini said the decision to formalise the company’s east coast presence was a significant milestone for her 17-year-old firm.

“We’ve had national and international clients since our launch almost 20 years ago, and our new Sydney office is the natural progression of growing our presence and offering,” she said.

“This expansion is a clear endorsement of the value we deliver to our partners, and our lasting relationship with them.

“We’re unashamedly hungry to grow and to prove our worth.”

Ms Tognini said the official move into the new market had inspired the rebrand, indicative of the business’ new era and the evolution of the company over nearly two decades.

The Sydney office will be run by newly appointed lead advisor Elizabeth Storer.
