A delegation of seven Western Australian information communications technology companies will head to Germany next week to promote the State as an ideal location for investment.

Science and Innovation Minister Francis Logan said the companies would be attending the annual In Unison festival in Berlin, an event designed to increase WA's ties with Germany.

"Germany is one of WA's top 20 trading partners and this event is a chance to increase our collaborations and partnerships," Mr Logan said.

"Export and investment opportunities will be promoted for WA education, tourism, skilled migration, culture and the arts, ICT and biotechnology."

Mr Logan was in Berlin earlier this year and discussed the festival with Australia's Ambassador to Germany at the time, Ms Pamela Fayle.

Ms Fayle offered to host the event at the Embassy from October 4-8 and to help promote it among Berlin businesses.

The Minister said he was particularly pleased that local ICT companies had decided to take part in the event, which would showcase the State's capability to potential clients, investors and business partners.

"The companies will participate in displays, networking functions, showcase events and be assisted with business introductions," he said.

"It will be a great opportunity for them to enter or expand their business in the valuable German market."

The seven companies are Novita, Embedded Technologies, QR Sciences, WA Go-Online, Multiskilled Solutions, SOE Soft and You Know? Innovation.

After the festival, the companies will go to London for the Intelligent Transport Systems Conference, a major international event that will provide a range of global networking and promotional opportunities.
