Perth's fastest growing IT innovator, L7 Solutions, has won Murdoch University's IT infrastructure upgrade contract worth over $2 million dollars.

The contract is one of the largest IT infrastructure deals ever struck by Murdoch University.

Murdoch chose L7 Solutions to do the upgrade because it needed to make a considerable investment to its 3000-plus user IT infrastructure to retain its reputation as the 'discoverers university' promoting free thinking and diversity and knew L7 was the best company to help it achieve this.

L7 Solutions was Murdoch's partner of choice because the company could understand, share and compliment the university's vision for the future, as well as offer the best IT solutions.

The Perth company jumped numerous hurdles to secure the lucrative contract, despite not having the highest vendor credentials.

Murdoch University's Chief Information Officer (CIO) Chris Foley said L7 Solutions stood out early on in negotiations because it offered a refreshingly open and innovative approach

"Not only do L7 have the capacity and appropriate knowledge to meet our IT requirements, they share our passion for professionalism and quality," Mr Foley said.

L7 Solutions were recently announced as Cisco's fastest growing partner for Australia and New Zealand, a considerable achievement for a Perth-owned company competing against well established multi-nationals.

The Murdoch contract strengthens L7 Solution's position in the highly competitive IT market.

L7 managing director, Matt Sullivan said he was excited about the new partnership.

"Until recently our credentials have been earned in the government and corporate sectors while waiting for the right opportunity, within the education market, to demonstrate L7's capacity," he said.

"The Murdoch campus-wide conversion of the university's data centre and campus infrastructure from outdated systems and technology to state-of-the-art Cisco technology is a great opportunity for L7 to demonstrate what we are capable of."

"We were also able to demonstrate the strength of our relationship with Cisco Systems which was pivotal to being able to deliver the right solution for the university."

The project, which is now underway, will deliver Murdoch University with one of the fastest and most efficient university IT networks in the country.
