Kinetic IT signs $23 million federal deal

Wednesday, 17 January, 2024 - 13:00

Perth-based technology leader Kinetic IT has scored a three-year deal with the federal government, worth approximately $23 million.

Under the agreement, Kinetic will provide full service to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and Arts, which oversees an infastructure investment program worth $120 billion.

Following the initial three-year deal, three one-year extensions options are available.

Wednesday's announcement comes on the back of Kinetic securing a contract worth $50 million with the Australian Taxation Office in June last year, as its lead enterprise service management partner.

The company has also worked closely with several major public and private sector entities, including Western Australia's Department of Education, in an alliance deal worth $504 million in June 2021, which was one of the largest-ever contracts of this nature offered by a Western Australian government.

Kinetic has also worked closely with WA Police and Qantas, among others.

It will also add 50 jobs nationally, which will include Perth-based staff, and has already begun its transition into the DITRCA's environment, which will be completed by May.

Kinetic chief executive officer Michael North said the company had a proven track record of delivering for departments at federal and state level.

"Kinetic IT has cemented itself as the Australian IT services partner of choice for federal and state governments, with strong demand for our depth of expertise and 100 per cent Australia-based talent that is capable of servicing large-scale digital transformation, through to strategic cyber security and data migration projects,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to delivering a dedicated national support network over the coming months that enhances existing IT services with a focus on robust reliability consistent user digital experience, quality customer service and, of course, high levels of security.“
