Aspiring gold miner KIN Mining is still on the hunt for a new managing director after the resignation of Don Harper last week, with the company announcing a board restructure that will include an independent chairperson.

Under the new board structure, founding chairman Trevor Dixon is set to become a non-executive director, while Brian Dawes has been appointed as a non-executive director.

Mr Harper resigned last week following a move by former directors Terry Grammer and Fritz Fitton to remove board member David Sproule.

Mr Harper also cited board dysfunction as a reason for his departure, with the former directors having founded the company with Mr Dixon and non-executive director Joe Graziano.

In a statement to the ASX, Kin said it was in discussions with applicants for the two positions, and that Mr Dixon would continue as chairman in the interim.

Once a new chairperson has been found, Mr Dixon will become a non-executive director.

Newly appointed board member Mr Dawes is also currently a non-executive director at Talisman Mining and has previously worked at Jubilee Mines, Western Areas and LionOre Australia.

“The company is pleased to welcome someone of Brian’s skills and experience to the board,” Kin said.
