Flexible workspace provider Hub Australia is set to expand to Perth, following an agreement with Brookfield to occupy space at Elizabeth Quay and Brookfield Place.

The co-working space provider has also agreed to take up two floors in Brookfield's and Cbus Super's Lot 6 development in Elizabeth Quay, and four floors, or 8,000 square metres, at Brookfield’s 45-storey tower on St Georges Terrace, anchored by BHP.

Hub Australia, which has co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra, is set to take up floors one to four in Nine The Esplanade, or Lot 6.

The 19-storey tower in Elizabeth Quay, set to be occupied by Multiplex and EY, is currently under construction and due for completion in 2025.

Hub Australia has announced it will come in as a third anchor tenant for the building, which is being developed in a joint venture between Brookfield and superannuation group Cbus.

The national flexible workspace provider will include its hospitality services in the Elizabeth Quay tower, with shared amenities including a business lounge, meeting and events spaces, café, and outdoor terrace.

The company will occupy a total of 8,000 square metres in the tower and manage the hospitality offering on the first floor of the building.

Hub Australia chief executive Brad Krauskopf said the deals came off the back of surging demand for flexible office space.

“We’ve been looking to expand into the WA market for some time now, and we’re thrilled to be finally opening our first two flexible workspaces in Perth’s CBD,” he said.

“Demand for premium office space in Perth is consistently high and we’re already receiving significant interest from potential tenants across both sites.

“Our hospitality service also reflects that delivering quality workspaces is no longer just about the desks and square metres.

“Next-generation professionals are looking for the highest-quality, most seamless workplace experiences - and businesses know they need to provide this in order to attract and retain the top talent.”

Brookfield Australia president Danny Poljak said the multinational property group was excited to expand its relationship with Hub Australia, following a successful partnership at  Brookfield Place tenants in Sydney.

“This new offering provides our tenants with outstanding space efficiency providing new amenity in conferencing and event spaces as well as flexible workspaces with the latest technology,” he said.

Cbus Property chief executive Adrian Pozzo also welcomed the commitment.

Hub Australia is expected to move into Nine The Esplanade upon its completion and into Brookfield Place shortly after that.

The move will make Hub Australia one of the state's largest flexible workspace providers, along with Liberty Flexible Workspaces and WeWork.

Data & Insights currently ranks Liberty as the largest flexible workspace provider in Perth, with 8,004sqm of office space across Perth.
