Homework helps career seekers

CHOOSING a new career can be made easier by doing some homework, says Peter Weiniger in a Seek Communications article.

People should look at occupations that will give them a high level of personal satisfaction but should still be realistic about their choices, Mr Weiniger writes.

“Ask yourself:

• How many hours per week do I want to work?

• How much do I need to earn to live comfortably?

• Will I be satisfied with the social status of my new company, position and title?

• How complex does my new career need to be to keep me challenged?

“Having answered the above there is another reality to examine – how will this affect my family?” he writes.
