Growth for recruiters

WA-BASED Management Search Australasia, formerly Management Recruiters Australia, has experienced phenomenal growth in the cutthroat recruitment market and will open a new office in Sydney before the end of the financial year.

Management Search Australasia managing director Warren Reynolds said the company had grown 300 per cent in the past year.

He said that, in the space of eight months, the company had opened two offices in the eastern states, launched a new name and adopted an employee share program.

“We purchased the business back in May 2001 and wanted to build it nationally and keep the ownership in WA,” Mr Reynolds said.

He said the expansion had been prompted by the demand from clients, including Iluka and Siemens.

“Clients were demanding that we

set up there,” Mr Reynolds said.

The company has opened offices in Melbourne and Brisbane and employs 42 people, compared with 17 a year ago. He said the staff share program had been a great success.

“If they feel they own the business they dedicate themselves ... when they go into that meeting it’s their money they are dealing with,” Mr Reynolds said.

He said the name change from Management Recruiters Australia to Management Search Australasia was a reflection of the core business.

Executive searching has grown over the past five years and now accounts for 60 per cent of the company’s business.

Mr Reynolds said Management Search Australia’s subsidiaries, Business Recruiters, Medical Recruiters, and Hospitality Recruiters would remain under the same business names.
