Gatecrasher wins diabetes account

GATECRASHER Advertising has won a four-way tussle with 303 Advertising, JDA and Vinten Browning to handle a campaign for Diabetes Australia.

The agency’s initial task will be to develop a pilot campaign that will run in regional Western Australia and, if successful, will be extended to the rest of the State.

Healthway has allocated initial funding for the pilot campaign.

Gatecrasher director Paul Yole said the agency was keen to become involved in, and build its experience of, social and health marketing campaigns.

The Federal Government has identified diabetes as a priority health issue.

It is estimated that about one million Australians have diabetes but half of them do not realise that they have it.

Gatecrasher is also understood to have secured another retail advertising account and is awaiting the outcome of a third pitch that it has made.

If that pitch comes off, the combined three contracts will be worth $2 million to the agency.
