Western Australian John Gardner (right) has been appointed managing director of national corporate and financial communication firm, Savage & Horrigan, a part of Ogilvy Public Relations Australia. Prior to joining Savage & Horrigan three years ago, Mr Gardner, 34, spent seven years working in financial and corporate PR in London and Perth. Since joining Savage & Horrigan in 2003, Mr Gardner has consulted on some of the major market transactions out of WA including the HBOS acquisition of BankWest and PBL’s successful takeover of Burswood Casino. Mr Gardner is currently advising Crosby Capital Partners on its proposed takeover of Perth-based mining company, Tethyan Copper. He has also assisted BankWest to raise its profile on the east coast, as the bank rolls out its direct channel services in that market. “Savage & Horrigan is well positioned for its next phase of growth, and I am excited about the outlook,” Mr Gardner said.
