Debra Blaskett, who held a number of key management roles with Perth Airport in the 2010s, has been appointed chair of the Forest Products Commission.

Ms Blaskett has been a commissioner since June and has served on Fremantle Ports' board since January.

Prior to that, she spent nine years with Perth Airport prior to that, including a four-year stint as the airport's chief corporate services officer.

She also brings significant government experience to the role having held management and director positions with the Department of Transport between 2000 and 2007.

Forestry Minister Dave Kelly welcomed Ms Blaskett to the role earlier today while thanking outgoing chair Ross Holt, who's held the position since 2015.

"I know her experience and knowledge will be critical to leading the Commission over the next few years," he said.

Vanessa Martin will replace Ms Blaskett as a commissioner.

Ms Martin also sits on the board of Swan River Trust.
