Fitzpatrick heads up Waste Authority

Environment Minister Bill Marmion has announced the appointment of Peter Fitzpatrick as the new chairman of the Waste Authority.

Mr Fitzpatrick has many years experience as the chief executive officer of two peak bodies, in the legal profession and the motor industry and before that had served with distinction in the Australian Army.

The Minister said Mr Fitzpatrick had an extensive background in corporate and not-for-profit leadership training and the development of innovative environmental programs.

He also has previous waste industry experience having served on the former Waste Advisory Board and State Recycling Advisory Committee in Western Australia.

Mr Fitzpatrick currently lectures in corporate governance for the Australian Institute of Company Directors and The University of Western Australia Business School and mentors a number of high performing chief executives.
