Fearis tackles Gallop

WHILE discussing competition for Geoff Gallop, corporate lawyer Neil Fearis is confident of his chances against Dr Gallop in the seat of Victoria Park in the forthcoming election. Mr Fearis, who was recently pre-selected for the seat, spent last weekend door-knocking.

"What was interesting was the number of people who don’t know Geoff Gallop is their local member," Mr Fearis said.

Labor won the seat by 14 per cent in the last election. Should the seat remain in the Labor camp, Mr Fearis, ever the optimist, believes he could get lucky with a strong chance of a by-election if the Liberal Party was elected into government. Mr Fearis is the chairman of Kresta Holdings and is a director of Carnarvon Petroleum and gold explorer Perseus Mining.
