RICHARD Strickland has been appointed as chief executive officer of the Department of Education Services. He has been acting in the role since July 2005. Mr Strickland has an extensive background in education administration, with 18 years’ experience in vocation and educational training and higher education. Before joining the DES, Mr Strickland held positions at the University of Western Australia, as well as a number of senior positions in the Department of Education and Training, including executive director of Planning and Resources and director of TAFEWA.
