E-commerce exporting on show

Tuesday, 4 April, 2000 - 22:00
The E-Commerce for Export workshop is designed to provide businesses with the information to determine whether electronic commerce tools will benefit a particular business pursuing export opportunities.

The workshop also aims to provide information on how to successfully implement these tools into the business.

E-commerce is becoming an important means of doing business, both on the domestic front and internationally with countries such as the US, Canada, Germany, Scandinavia and Australia leading the way.

It can remove barriers of time and distance thereby assisting Australian exporters to become more competitive in an increasingly global marketplace.

The three-hour workshop is aimed at small and medium-sized organisations that are seeking an introduction to e-commerce and its relevance to exporting. It covers seven key questions:

• How do I assess the global market using e-commerce tools?

• How do I market my product using e-commerce?

• Is it possible to close the deal electronically?

• Can I source and deliver product via the Internet?

• How can I provide after-sales service via the Internet?

• What about export assistance?

• What help is available for getting started in e-commerce?

The next two workshops will be held on 11 April at the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce facilitated by Trevor de Carteret. The first workshop runs from 8:30am to 1:00pm and will be repeated from 2:00pm to 5:30pm. The fee for each workshop is $50.
