Dowsing acquisition to double turnover

Australian civil contractor Dowsing Group is set to double its turnover following the acquisition of two civil services businesses and an expansion into New South Wales.

On Friday, the company announced the completion of its acquisition of WA-based road profiling contractor WA Profiling and slipform paving contractor A1 Highways’ New Zealand operations.

The completion of the acquisitions, coupled with its expansion into New South Wales last year, is expected to support the expansion of the company’s civil services offering and double its turnover in an 18-month period.

Dowsing Group managing director Bohdan Dowsing said that both acquisitions were a natural fit and an important part of the group’s strategy to increase its scale and provide geographic expansion.

He said the recent acquisitions would also help the group ensure that it could meet market demand for services during the COVID recovery period.

Despite the challenges posed by the current travel restrictions, chief financial officer Paul Coates said the company was excited by the opportunity to extend its services to the New Zealand market.

The Dowsing Group acquisitions were advised by WA firm Octavian Group, Sydney-based Ash Street Partners and New Zealand-based Anthony Harper.
