A mix-up during a mass text message to Fremantle Dockers members has led to a leak of personal details ahead of the semi-final with Collingwood.

Members were sent a text notification about the semi-final ticket pre-sale information, which includes their name, email and personalised barcode, on Sunday morning.

However, the text message containing individual details were sent to the wrong members instead.

It was followed by a text message which reads “please disregard previous SMS as it was sent in error”.

A post on the Fremantle Dockers Facebook page notified others of the error about noon.

“The club is currently working through a finals ticketing communication error to members,” it said.

“We can assure our members it will not impact their ability to access a priority purchase window for semi-finals tickets on Monday."

Fremantle Dockers chief executive Simon Garlick later apologised over the incorrect finals ticketing and email information on Sunday.

“Our management team have been working through the error with the absolute priority being to ensure our members’ ability to access finals tickets will not be compromised as a result of the error,” he said.

“I ask that you please disregard all ticketing communications and codes received from the Club this morning via email and SMS.”

Members were to be issued with a password via email later that day, to buy up to 10 tickets for the semi-final match.

“For matches beyond next week’s semi-finals, new member codes will be generated by the AFL and provided to members,” Mr Garlick said.

“We take your privacy and information very seriously and we appreciate your understanding with this.

“We can assure you that we will work diligently to review the matter and ensure this error does not happen again.”

The AFL semi-final will be held on Saturday.
