Diploma to build $17.6m youth housing project

Diploma Group has won a $17.6 million contract to build a mixed-use residential, retail and office project in Oxford Street, Leederville, for a joint venture between Foundation Housing, Anglicare WA and Central Institute of Technology.

The Oxford Youth FOYER development will comprise 98 studio and 1-bedroom apartments to offer affordable accommodation to peo0ple aged between 16 and 25.

The project also includes onsite support and case worker services and has been designed to provide pathways to education and training facilities.

“We are pleased once again Diploma can apply its construction management and delivery skills to such an important project that will benefit the community,” chief executive Nick Di Latte said.

Construction has already commenced, with completion expected late next year.
