Mr Jones said growth was achieved despite a turbulent market, and was driven by a proactive approach to assisting businesses respond quickly to market conditions.

"Deloitte has been actively working with clients to help manage their businesses during volatile times. This has included innovative approaches to cost management and performance, and ensuring they are well positioned to manage the business out of the turbulence and capitalise on improving conditions," Mr Jones said.

"In the past twelve months, we have seen particularly strong growth in our corporate reorganisation business. Many organisations have used the recent market conditions to review and optimise business, finance and tax structures, as well as pursuing merger, acquisition and reorganisation opportunities," he said.

He also said a key plank in the strong growth within the WA office was ongoing strength and activity in the resources and energy sectors. He said Deloitte expects the growth to continue.

"We are continuing to receive strong business interest in China, and believe that the WA resources industry is well positioned to capitalise on these opportunities. With our specialist expertise in managing foreign investment for the resources and mining industry, and our strong links and understanding of the Chinese market, Deloitte is well positioned to drive this ongoing development."

Mr Jones said the new partner appointments bolstered the Company's service offering, particularly in the corporate reorganisation and tax, where Deloitte has seen a considerable growth in its business.

"The new appointments reflect our continued growth, and our view that there are significant opportunities and improving business conditions in the medium term," Mr Jones said.

"We are very pleased to have four new partners in the Perth office commencing from the start of the 2009/10 financial year, with another two partners to commence in the coming two months.
