Osborne Park-based Decmil Group has been contracted to build a bridge over BHP’s Yandi rail line and complete road restoration works in the Pilbara.
The work is part of a joint project between BHP and Main Roads Western Australia, expected to improve road safety and productivity in the area.
Main Roads has contracted Decmil for $28.2 million to build a single span bridge over the Newman-Port Hedland rail line near BHP’s Yandi operation, as well as realign 2.8 kilometres of Munjina Road.
Work is expected to begin in October and be completed by mid-next year.
Decmil chief executive Dickie Dique said the business continued to benefit from Australia’s booming infrastructure sector.
“Decmil has built a strong track record with the various infrastructure delivery authorities across our geographical regions and in particular Main Roads WA, which was a key driver behind the company securing this contract,” he said.
Shares in Decmil were down 1.4 per cent at 10:33am AEST to trade at 36 cents.
