The state government has selected local business Crothers Construction to rebuild Hillarys Primary School.

Crothers was awarded an $18.2 million contract from the Department of Finance (on behalf of the Department of Education) in December, according to Tenders WA.

Announced in November 2020, the rebuild includes a new administration building, library, and staff facilities as well as an early childhood block, 16 classrooms and car parks.

The work is expected to be finished in time for the 2023 school year.

Crothers is also rebuilding Lesmurdie Primary School, with a $17 million contract awarded from the finance department in September.

Work on Lesmurdie is also due to finish in 2023.

A number of primary schools are opening that year, including Landsdale South, Madora Bay (Mandurah), Wellard Village, and West Swan (Dayton).
