Local miner Crescent Gold has appointed Edward Mercaldo as the company’s international corporate advisor. In this role he will focus on accessing North American capital markets. The initial appointment is effective immediately and ends on the 30 June 2007.
Mr Mercaldo is a financial consultant and private investor, following a successful career as an international commercial and investment banker for several leading companies including the Bank of Montreal, Bankers Trust Company of New York, Gordon Capital and First Marathon Securities.
Mr Mercaldo also served as the executive vice-president, chief financial officer and director of Vancouver-based Diamond Fields Resources.
Mr Mercaldo is currently a director of Norwood Resources, another Vancouver-based company, which has interests in onshore oil leases in Nicaragua. He is also a director of Quest Capital Corporation, an active investor in mineral and energy projects.
