Coziron back in the field at Top Camp

Coziron Resources now has a diamond rig operating at its Top Camp prospect in the Pilbara, undertaking a second phase of drilling designed to follow up some exciting previous drill numbers such as 8 metres grading 10.2 grams per tonne gold from 135m down hole.

The company has previously said it will drill around three holes to about 200m depth, which will provide sufficient data to be able to plan and optimise further drilling across the 1.5-kilometre-long by 400-metre-wide Top Camp prospect.

Corziron’s maiden drilling program, which was polished off late last year, returned anomalous gold intercepts in nine out of a total of 13 holes. Other notable numbers include 19m grading  0.69g/t from 51m and 7m grading 1.4g/t gold from 58m downhole.

The Perth-based company said it will analyse the geology and orientation of the mineralised structures from the diamond core.

Meanwhile, Coziron’s Geologists are also back out in the field mapping and sampling some priority targets at Top Camp where it says a bunch of historical prospectors have been scratching around.

The company is also targeting other sites around the Bottom Camp prospect that is already host to some gold geochemical anomalies

Bottom Camp covers an area that spans about 1km by 500m and according to Corziron, about 20% of all the soil samples taken previously generated results between 0.02 grams per tonne to 0.8g/t gold, which is considered highly anomalous for a soil sample.

Coziron also recently revealed it has acquired some valuable data sets from a multispectral survey across its Top Camp ground. Multispectral surveys measure energy that is reflected from parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. The specific signals emitted can be analysed and used to image groups of minerals or changes in geomorphology.

The company said it was looking at the images along with geochemical data to map geological features that may relate to gold mineralisation.

Specifically, it is focused on the Tabba Tabba shear zone that looks like it controls the location of De Grey Mining’s Hemi gold discovery up the road.

The discovery of the new Hemi deposit by De Grey was a game changer for that company that now enjoys a market cap of some $470m - if Corziron can tap into some of that prospectivity with some good detective work, it just might provide a touch of excitement.
