Claremont approval

The Town of Claremont has approved a proposal to redevelop the Claremont Football Club site following from the agreement between the CFC and the Royal Agricultural Society to share facilities.

Under the agreement the football club will move its facilities to the show grounds, freeing up a large parcel of valuable land in Claremont.

LandCorp has thrown its hat in the ring to develop the existing football club grounds and adjoining Westrail land. Claremont council has expressed support of the LandCorp proposal.

The State Government is considering a redevelopment authority option and the LandCorp option for the development of both sites.

The land concerned is under the control of the Government and council has indicated talks with Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan will be the next step in the process.

Council has also responded to a request from Multiplex and Hawaiian Management Group on how to progress with a new development application for the town centre expected to be lodged by the end of the year.
