Henderson-based Civmec has received $90 million worth of contracts for work on a number of projects nationwide, with the most significant being a construction job at Alcoa of Australia’s Pinjarra alumina refinery.

Civmec said it would undertake the engineering, procurement, delivery, construction, integration, commissioning and performance testing of a filter facility, materials handling system and supporting infrastructure for Alcoa’s Pinjarra refinery.

Civmec’s solution includes integrating the world’s largest plate and frame filters with the materials handling system,” Civmec said.

“The contract will be executive over the next 18 months by a skilled workforce of more than 200 people.”

Civmec also confirmed it had received a civil concrete contract by Altura Mining for a plant at the client’s $140 million Pilgangoora lithium mine in the Pilbara.

Work under the contract will begin immediately.

Civmec last month received a notice of intention for the awarding of the contract.

Civmec also announced today it had recently been awarded various maintenance, rectification and refractory projects for a number of resources clients across Australia, including in Western Australia.

“We work hard with our clients to ensure they are getting the best overall solution for their important projects and it is very satisfying to see our efforts being rewarded with these latest contract awards,” Civmec chief executive Pat Tallon said.

“Having recently delivered refractory and maintenance work for Alcoa it is pleasing that they, and our other existing and new clients, see the value in our proven self-delivery model.

“Over the previous year we have focused heavily on ensuring we enter the new financial year with a healthy order book and we now look forward to conscientiously delivering our work in hand and continue our growth and success”.
