Cervantes fields merger requests

Perth-based Cervantes Corporation says it has been approached by several companies over a possible merger.

 

The announcement is below:

 

Cervantes Corporation Ltd ("Cervantes") (ASX:CVS) in addition to our "Activities Update" report of the 5th
November 2008 we advise of the following additional events since that date:

Cervantes have been approached by an Eastern States seafood group who have indicated substantial
trading profits and annual growth, in regards to a merger of interests.

The Board of Cervantes has requested further confirmation of the group's financial position prior to further
consideration of the offer.

Cervantes has also been approached by a representative of a Philippine Group who have access to several
large Gold, Coal, Oil and Gas projects who may wish to utilise Cervantes listed status and connections to
various expertise in these sectors, to assess these projects on their behalf with a view to progressing these
projects either in Cervantes or with other entities with the potential for Cervantes shareholders to benefit
from the relationship.

Cervantes has been approached by several parties to assess and possibly become involved both directly
and indirectly in Gold projects in Western Australia, all of which further data and information is to be
provided.

The Chinese group mentioned on a number of occasions previously have indicated through one of their
representatives that they intend confirming their interests one way or another within 7 days.

The Board are busy assessing these various opportunities and hope to be in a position to progress one or
more of these in a relatively short period.
