Community Housing Limited (CHL) has won $65 million in incentives under the fourth round of the National Rental Affordability Scheme, including 173 properties in Western Australia.

The affordable housing provider announced today it had secured a total of 710 incentives across Australia;  206 incentives in New South Wales, 180 in South Australia, and 151 in Tasmania.

CHL managing director Steve Bevington said the spread of the incentives across the nation had strengthened the not-for-profit company’s position.

“The NRAS-4 announcement provides the necessary funding to develop these houses and ensure they are allocated to those in housing need at an affordable rental rate,” he said.

“Besides the growth of new housing, this new supply will provide a boost to the construction sector to the tune of $120 million, ensuring employment generation in these four states.”
